No, this is not an announcement of what would be a very big surprise pregancy . . . . But our household will be growing by one on Friday! We will be welcoming this little sweetie, Luna (or at least that is the name Campbell has settled on as of today).
Ever since the wonderful folks at our local Westie Rescue organization helped me find Fitzy a new home when it became clear we couldn't keep him after Campbell was born and his protective streak got so bad, I have felt the need to balance karma and rescue a dog. In some senses Marlo was a rescue in that she wasn't bred for gain but was an accidental litter. That said we got her from the parent dog's owners and not a rescue organization or a shelter. I still maintain that one day I will rescue an actual Westie to completely pay back my debt, but knowing Adam will never sign off on a Westie that will have to come when I'm an old widow lady. For now, our family is in love with the Boston terrier breed so I've been searching for a good Boston to rescue.
Last Thursday this sweet little Boston/Pug mix popped up and in the neighboring county and it seemed like destiny! So Campbell and I ganged up on Adam and convinced him she was the perfect family Christmas present. After all, we are settled in our new, bigger home and we all love Marlo so much what could be better than adding another sweetheart to the family and growing that love?!
We spent the weekend preparing the house and getting supplies and are super excited to bring our little (and I mean little as she's barely bigger than my hand at 10 weeks old) bundle of furry joy home! Stay tuned for tales of housebreaking and puppy shenanigans!
