We're fortunate to have a great indie bookstore in Lexington, it's one of our favorite places to shop. I was strolling through, looking for nothing in particular, when I came across the little 'be still' heart-shaped dish you see uptop. It's not large by any means. The coaster you see beside it is a normal sized coaster that should give you some perspective on the shape. I should mention that the coaster is a gift from my friend, Pam. Thank you, Pam! xo
So anyhow, there was no way I could pass up this little treasure, even though my 'attendance' at Be Still classes as been spotty at best. I'm still working on the concept of making time to 'be still' each day, whether with my photography or just my life in general. As with all things, some days are better than others. But this little dish sits right beside me as a frequent reminder to me, a reminder which I really seem to need.
I also read the last Be Still lesson which challenged us to do a square aspect photo leaving negative space and two sides of the square empty. This turned out to be trickier than I thought and I'm still not 100% pleased with the composition, but it's a start and it was a great exercise in seeing things in a different way than I usually do.
With this 'perfect find', I'm heading over to link up with Kim's Friday Finds. Will you be there?
How has your week been? Are you finished with your holiday decorating? I finished ours up today with the exception of our window candles. I ordered some new ones and am hoping they come tomorrow.
I do love this time of year and I'm trying to keep myself at an even keel, not getting too overwhelmed with the task list that always seems to be running in my head. In other words, I'm trying ...
to be still.
