Beautiful. When I lived in Maryland, I had the white dogwoods in my front yard. The pink are wonderful.

Sorry to hear about your dogwood trees. Your pictures are wonderful though. We lost power Sat at 9 p.m. and it did not come back on til Monday at 3 a.m. It was 90 on Sunday with 80% humidity. Not fun.

The pink dogwoods are my favorites... and I am so sad that you had all this damage. But you are right to look at the bright side. Of course the dogwood will come back next year, and the gutters will be repaired. We have such a good life here.
I once had a pink dogwood - like the one in your pictures - in my front yard, but unfortunately it died (O have no idea why). Here, people sometimes come into the front yard during the night to greak off branches of dogwood. So sad...

Gorgeous images!

I'm sorry about your dogwoods Dotti, but I love that you were able to save some, in their perfect imperfection. Beautifully said. Reminds me of a line from an old movie - "everything beautiful is slightly lopsided." Grateful for posts like this which are great reminders of how extremely fortunate we are. Prayers to the victims in Nepal...
