I took a little break too, unintentionally and still haven't gotten back in the swing. I love the "tea for two" cups! How cute is that and so special for the two of you! Christmas unwrapping presents pictures? Mine are awful! My five boys can move faster than lightning! Happy New Year to you!

You were just right to take a break and live in the moment, Dotti. I love the family portrait. What a great idea to use the moustaches! And I totally agree with what you say about getting a good shot of present opening. In our family it's a chaotic scene, which always plays out against a big floor to ceiling window, which sounds like a gift for the family photographer, but in fact leaves everyone underexposed against a really bright background. I've learnt from hard-won experience to do as you did, and just savour the moment. All the best for 2015, Bonny

I usually take a little break at Christmas, it is hard to find time to get everything done... It looks like you had a wonderful Christmas, love the family portrait! We have snow today and they cancelled school, my daughter is still sleeping as I type. Maybe next week we will get back into our normal routine. Happy New Year!

Fun family portrait and I just love your tea for two cup! The holidays yielded some quiet time for me , which was a blessing. Having difficulty getting back into the swing of things though. Hoping that reading some of my favorite blogs like Camper will inspire me to get with it!

Lovely portrait one for the album (do people have albums these days?). And a great cup perfect for you two ladies...

The family photo is a treasure and one I'm sure Campbell will keep for years to smile about. As for all the busyness, I'm relieved it is now over, but it's always fun even with last minute things to do. And going to Biltmore, that is on our list to visit. I think Christmas time would be really beautiful, not to hot to walk around, and very dressed up for Christmas with beautiful flowers and wreathes in the southern way. I've always wanted to visit Williamsburg at Christmas time too. We did get snow, but the sun is shining beautifully now. Happy you enjoyed your special time with family and a blogging break. Happy New Year Dotti!!

We are settled into winter now and just in time because the temps have dipped below freezing and while we haven't had a snow storm yet...we have had a bit of snow here and there. A warning of what is to come I suppose. I love your family portrait...a lovely memory.

Looks like you had a wonderful holiday season with your family. I love that family portrait! And what a perfect way to spend the day with your granddaughter, drinking tea and reading...so perfect. I must say that out of all your mugs, I absolutely LOVE that tea-for-two cup! What a sweet idea. I wish I had invented that!

Oh...and Happy New Year to you and yours!

I think being preset is just the best, isn't the Biltmore just the best, the closet thing we have to a castle in the US. Oh wait there is Hearst Castle in CA but I love the Biltmore more. Love the family portrait and the cup.

I love the quirky family portrait! Sounds like you had a lovely holiday season. I took a hiatus from blogging, too, and it felt nice to be able to step away for a bit and enjoy the holidays with the family.

Happy 2015!

Hi Dotie! The Biltmore is on my bucket list ... everything I have read about it makes me need to go there! My Aunt used to live in Ashville and worked there ... lucky lady!! So glad you had a great holiday!!

Yep, I know about that being present thing...it's why I've been MIA from my blog too. Love the "mustache" and yes, for me Christmas morning photos especially in our house now are just non-existent, but mostly because I don't want to fret over getting it right, and just enjoy the moments. In fact, I've been purposely leaving my camera at home sometimes...I know, gasp!
