Yesterday Campbell decided she'd like to take a photo of the cup that holds her colorful markers. With a little bit of help from me, this is what she managed. Not bad for a 4-year old holding a camera that is too big for her.
When I posted this on my Flickr page last night, I got several nice complements which, needless to say, stroked her ego! This morning I showed her how the image looked on the internet and she was motivated to take another photo, again with a camera that was a bit unwieldy for her to handle alone. You can see the results of that effort below.
Campbell's interest in taking photos waxes and wanes but she does seem to have a good eye for composition, color and style. As we've mentioned before, Campbell is a bit of a girlie girl and consequently, something of a fashionista. Sometimes it seems she's 4 going on 13 because her opinions about clothes are so firm, she either likes an outfit or she doesn't. There's no persuading her otherwise once her mind is made up.
I'm not sure where all this is going to lead us but I am sure that it should prove to be an interesting journey. While raising our children is the most rewarding job we'll ever have, it's also the toughest, made more so by the fact that children don't come with owner's manuals.
But is there any job that's more important?
